So good to be alive...

Not sure what inspired this rhyme, but I kinda like it.

Not Actually True

I was singin’ in the bathtub when the cops showed up that day.

He didn’t mean to shoot his self; it just turned out that way.

The bullet barely missed my head and then passed through my thigh.

It hit the curved end of the tub, came back and missed my eye.

As I lay bleeding in the tub, the water turning red,

the bullet hit the copper square and killed him like I said!

Glaciers

The weather has been tolerable for being outside, so we have been playing a lot of disc golf on the old snow. I am slowly bringing down my average score, and totally enjoying the exercise and social aspects of the sport. Stimpi is by far my most regular opponent, but my friend Jack Dial is hooked now, and we plan to play again as soon as he recovers from open heart surgery.

I am looking forward to the upcoming family gathering in Ballard in March.

Inauguration Day

Today I am celebrating in my heart! Oh, how I have longed for the end of the Bush administration. Today is the day. Goodbye Bush; hello Obama. There's hope.

Huge Visitors

Two moose wandered into the yard about daybreak Friday. Barb got some pics through the window. Very exciting!

Carshmallows

Happy New Year! I never made it to Bob & Dian's New Years Eve. Just too old for that late-night stuff any more.I mentioned December 8 that we'd still had no snow. Things have changed. In the last three weeks of December we had RECORD snowfall. The most ever! Thank Barb for the use of her snow blower. It has kept the driveway passable. We have shoveled the decks many times. There is deep snow on the roof and huge piles of snow everywhere. Hard to believe all this will soon be melted and we'll be in 100 degree heat.

New Years Eve

I believe I will take a nice afternoon nap. Then perhaps I'll be rested enough to enjoy a late nite out. Barb & I will be at the Greenewell party at 12 Midnight to welcome 2009. That's not their real name, but when Bob Greene married Dian Newell, I saw no other choice but to call them the Greenewells. A little goofy, maybe, but they're okay with it. Hope you all are well and I'll talk to ya next year.

December 2008

The weather has been good. No snow yet, but cold enough for snow. It's been a great fall for disc golf, and I'm still playing plenty. Now that I'm 60, I can compete in tournaments in the class of senior grand master. That sounds mighty prestigious to me.
The economy is supposed to be in a recession, but Spokane Movers is still getting some work. Just not as much. Did I say please visit our web site? http://www.spokanemovers.com. I tried to make that a link, but it didn't make. Hmmm
